Bright Data

👩🏻 My Role

In 2023 for a few months, I was a part of Bright Data's product team. My role involved developing specific features based on the required product documents, user behavior analysis, and the existing Design system. I collaborated with other designers and project managers within the Bright Data team.

🔥️ Project Overview

Bright Data offers a comprehensive suite of tools for simplified data management, web scraping, and analysis, including interfaces, a visual scripting tool, data filtering, and support for various formats. My goal in designing for Bright Data was to create user-friendly tools empowering effective data access. This case study highlights some features I worked on.

✏️ Design Process

At Bright Data, I contributed to the development of a mature product with thousands of users. My design process involved analyzing current solutions and understanding Product Requirements Documents from different perspectives. I outlined goals and diagnosed problems collaboratively with the team. When enhancing existing features, I conducted a UX audits on the current solutions.

Schema component

One of the features I worked on was the schema component, dedicated to building custom web scraper schemes. My role involved improving the user interface of the existing tool.

Know You Customer

KYC check is a crucial procedure that involves identifying and verifying a client's identity during the account opening process, particularly at Bright Data, where it is essential for specific offerings like access to proxies.

Problem: users faced problems in understanding the necessity of KYC for accessing Bright Data products.

Solution: improving the flow for clearer communication, integrating an informative FAQ section throughout the entire process, introducing access to discarded cases to prevent errors, enhancing the clarity of copywriting, and adding a basic information screen with details about the identity verification process.

Dataset Marketplace browsing

Problem: Users don't typically browse individual datasets starting from a list. There's a lack of activity across different levels on the Dataset Marketplace

Process:
After conducting an audit of the current browsing experience, I identified several crucial issues related to navigation, flow, and filtering. Examples include the inability to return to the main view, unclear category behavior, the absence of a main view, and issues with the visibility of system status.

Solutions:
Implement a main view that displays all datasets and provides access to the way back, introduce new sorting and categorization components, and redesign the UI for the dataset list and search functionality.
